Do we need a second photographer for our wedding?

The short answer is no, but it absolutely is a great idea. Think of all those moments where you want to see what is happening simultaneously. You walking down the aisle and your spouse-to-be’s reaction. While one photographer will get a shot or two of both, two photographers will ensure that split second reaction is not missed. The second photographer will help with things like capturing those small details so you and I can have more time together to get those beautiful portraits done. They will also bring another creative eye to your wedding that only they have. A good second photographer will help with fluffing your dress, gathering guests for family portraits, arranging details and they shoot with a different lens to get different details or perspectives that you wouldn’t necessarily get from 1 photographer.

While I like to think I can do it all, let’s be real, I am one person. No photographer alone will be able to 100% guarantee they won’t miss a single moment. As annoying as it is, sometimes your girl just needs a bathroom break. Having another photographer there allows me to have 1 more opportunity to ensure every moment is covered.

The most fun reason is you get more photos! I never cap the number of photos you get for your wedding, so if you have 2 photographers, you’re getting so many more!

I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the cons. I try to be as upfront and honest as possible for my clients. The only con, that I can see anyway, is that your cost will increase. The second photographer means an increase in my time for editing as well as they will be paid for their time. If we are traveling to your location, there is a separate travel fee for them as well which will be included in your quote.
